Schedule a class more than once a day (e.g 2 or more lessons on the same day for the same class)

Some days I teach two hours of the same class in one day, with two or more different groups. Merging and splitting plans for different groups schedules is time consuming and very hard. It would be nice if we could schedule the same class more than once a day so we could copy and paste plans from day to day.

I often teach the same subject for two to three lessons a day. I'd be very happy, if a subject could be "ON" twice or more a day. I tried to dodge the problem with a second subject named "double lesson", but then I have problems with unit planning and bumping lessons... Please help :)

Hi Frank, this makes sense! But, I want to make sure I fully understand:
- Let's say you're a middle school reading teacher.
- You teach your 7th graders before lunch
- They come back from lunch and you teach them again but you teach them a new lesson.
- You want to be able to put two lessons on a day because you're teaching those two lessons to the same kids.
Next year, if you were import those classes and you only had one class session a day, your import would take twice as many days because you're only teaching 1 session (instead of two).
Is that how it works and the implications for how copying a class would work?

Hi Scott,
Yes, that's how it works. In Switzerland we have double lessons with the same classes sometimes. i.e. my math students have a double lesson on Mondays, but only single lessons on Tuesdays/Wednesdays and Thursdays.
The number of lessons per week is the same every year, so the import wouldn't be a problem.
Now I have a problem when I need to bump only 1 of the 2 lessons, because I put them in one lesson with an extra text card for the second lesson. So when I want to bump, say the second lesson, I need to copy-paste the whole lesson and then delete the first half... and that takes a lot of effort.
Hope you can help
Cheers from Switzerland

I see some classes twice a day in non-contiguous periods. So i need to be able to write 2 lesson plans for the same class in one day.

I am so sad it has not been changed since 2017... I also have this issue.

It would be something. I've used a few programs for planning, all in an effort to make writing them, organizing them and updating them faster. My school using split doubles has always been an issue. In some cases I've made an entire different class and just called it "double".
I've also seen many people request that the week view be collapsible or in some way easier to view and I really agree with that. I need to be able to see all 8 periods with lesson titles for all 5 days.
