My lesson plan book right now is simple - the age old one. Looks like a grid with names and boxes for checks and absences. My thought process is on limiting the amount of stuff I carry around. That's one big reason I went to digital planning. I love the website, features and what it offers. It would just be beneficial, to me, if under the assessment tab in each class like I can click to open the standards. I can click and a grid type sheet would open for me to check mark who is here and who isn't. Then it would minimize and be the last tab in the lesson template. When I personalize it it would be on a separate page/tab and be accessed as just a pop up in the lesson template. Now I am no website designer and do not know the in and out of stuff like that, that just how it looks in my mind. All I am asking for is consideration.

Sheyanne Warren: Thanks for explaining that! That's helpful!

Hi Sheyanne,
I'm sorry! I didn't mean to dismiss this! It's something we've thought about since Robbie & I started Cc back in 2012. Having attendance and plans in one app would be very useful and would save many steps.
If we had infinite resources, we'd definitely do this. However, we're a small team and if we tried to do planning AND attendance, we wouldn't be able to do them both well. Also, in both large and small districts, there's often a mandated attendance app. We'd be creating a feature that many, many teachers couldn't use even if they LOVED it due to the district mandate.
However, there might be some ways we could do attendance that aren't an "attendance app". For instance, if you're trying to manage small groups (each small group is a class in Cc), it would make sense to be able to track who came to that session. When I was a teacher, I know I would have loved to have this. I would love to roll a feature like -- it's a small, focused tool that doesn't compete with the district mandated attendance plan and yet is still very useful.
Could you tell me more about what you'd like to see? Is this a class roster you check off at the beginning of the day or something that's unique to each class?

Hi Sheyanne!
Thanks for the suggestion! We most likely won't add this as we try to stay focused on our main features -- lesson/unit planning. However, if things change, we'll let you know!

Scott Ames-Messinger: It would prevent me from having to get yet another book (digital or not) to use with planning. or going to a resource that has planning and attendance. All I'm suggesting is to not write off the idea like it feels like has already been done.
